In the House
In the summer, open a window at night to cool your house. In the winter, try an extra blanket! In addition to reducing your carbon footprint, both will save you money!

Eating Habits
  • Be Well menu items in USU Dining Services are a wonderful option to eat and stay healthy. Choose from delicious whole wheat pasta, veggies and marinara at Pasta LaBella's, or turkey and veggies on whole wheat at Hogi Yogi, or grab a Be Well Chicken Salad Wrap at Road Runner - all located in The Hub. The Be Well choices are all offered at a 10% discount. Also offered is the "buy 10, get 1 free" Be Well comeback card. All Be Well options at The Hub and Quadside cafe meet the following criteria: <600 calories, <30% fat, >6 g fiber. "Healthy eating has never been easier, let us do the thinking for you." • Eating locally grown produce is better for you and the environment. Logan has a Farmer's Market on Saturdays from 9:00-1:00 behind Merlin Olsen Park, and a produce market on Wednesdays at 7:00 in front of the Logan Courthouse. Both are excellent ways to find quality produce from local growers. Not only is the produce local, but it's usually extremely fresh an delicious!

Small Daily Steps

Three easy ways to be more environmentally friendly:
  1. Always bring your own bag to grocery stores.
  2. Always bring your own cup/mug to refill your favorite beverage (i.e. coffee, hot chocolate, soda etc)
  3. When taking home leftovers from restaurant, ask the waiter if they have any containers besides those made of styrofoam. They often will have a more eco-friendly option somewhere!

President-Elect Obama is hard at work getting this country back on track, but he’s counting on input from all of us.

I just wrote in to share my vision for where President-Elect Obama should lead the country, and I thought you might want to do the same:

Thanks.
